This is a heavy-duty, table-mounted wire straightener designed for processing rectangular-section wire ranging from 0.5 mm to 4 mm.
Unlike my earlier handheld models, this version delivers greater precision, stability, and force, making it ideal for demanding applications or harder materials.
Functional Design:
-
Features two identical straightening blocks, each equipped with 7 ball bearings:
-
4 fixed bearings aligned on the main axis
-
3 individually adjustable bearings, allowing for controlled pressure on the wire
-
-
The two blocks are oriented at 90° to each other, mounted on a shared calibration base that keeps them axially aligned by design.
This layout enables simultaneous straightening along both perpendicular axes of the wire. -
Designed specifically for flat and rectangular wire — including unequal sections like 1×3 mm or 2×4 mm — thanks to fully adjustable bearing positioning on each block.
Quick-Release Mechanism:
Each block is equipped with a partial quick-release system that allows for:
-
Temporarily releasing roller tension to insert wire without recalibrating, especially useful when working with hard wire or tight bearing configurations
-
Restoring the previous tension settings instantly after insertion
⚙️ Two-Stage Operation:
-
Initial high-pressure pass: removes bends and deformations, resulting in a smooth wire with a long-radius curve
-
Final low-pressure pass: fine-tunes straightness and delivers a visually and geometrically straight wire, suitable for precision applications
Applications:
-
Jewelry fabrication with flat or shaped wire
-
Wire preparation for coiling, bending, forming, or lamination
-
Repeatable straightening where precision and consistency are critical
