I’m a frontend engineer by profession. On the side I tinker — mechanisms, 3D printing, CAD. The wire tools came out of a project involving wire race bearings. I built what I needed, put it on YouTube, and started getting requests to buy.
I’ve been shipping these since around 2021.
Around 70 units shipped since then, across a wider range of applications than I’d anticipated — metalsmiths, cage fabricators, electricians, makers of various kinds.
The tools are 3D printed: PETG bodies, industrial bearings and fasteners. They bring the industrial wire straightening principle to a workbench footprint, at a price that makes sense for a small shop. The full story is on the From Need to Innovation page.
