1. Who we are

This website is operated by MindCenter SRL, registered in Romania, with registered address at Lahovari 98B, Dumbraveni, Ilfov, Romania. We trade under the name WireTools at thewiretools.com. Contact: contact@thewiretools.com.

2. What data we collect and why

Orders and account data When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, billing and shipping address, and payment information. Payment transactions are processed by Stripe and PayPal — we do not store full card details on our servers. We use this data to fulfil your order, issue invoices via SmartBill, and communicate with you about your purchase.

Contact form and email If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we store your name, email address, and message content for as long as necessary to respond and resolve your enquiry.

Wishlists and accounts If you create an account or use the wishlist feature, we store the associated email address and wishlist contents to provide this functionality.

Review invitations If you consent during checkout, we will send you a follow-up email inviting you to review your purchase. This is handled through Customer Reviews for WooCommerce (CusRev), which operates as a data processor on our behalf. Review invitations are only sent with your explicit consent.

Analytics and advertising We use Google Analytics and Google Ads to understand how visitors use our site and to measure the effectiveness of advertising. These services use cookies and similar tracking technologies. For visitors located in the European Union and EEA, analytics and advertising storage are disabled by default and only activated if you consent via our cookie banner.

We also participate in Google Merchant Center Reviews, which allows Google to invite customers to review their purchase experience with our store.

Anti-spam and security We use reCAPTCHA v3 (Google) on our contact form to prevent automated abuse. This involves Google collecting and analysing browser behaviour. See Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Technical and performance data We use FastPixel as a content delivery and image optimisation service. Jetpack analytics collects aggregated, non-identifiable usage statistics.

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

We process your data on the following legal bases under GDPR (Regulation EU 2016/679):

  • Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)): processing necessary to fulfil your order and provide related services
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): fraud prevention, site security, aggregated analytics
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): analytics cookies, advertising cookies, and review invitation emails — all of which you can withdraw at any time
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): retention of financial records as required by Romanian fiscal law (10 years for invoices)

4. Cookies

We use the following categories of cookies:

Strictly necessary: WooCommerce session cookies (cart contents, checkout state), login cookies if you create an account. These cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.

Analytics: Google Analytics (_ga, ga*) — active only with your consent. These cookies track how you interact with the site and help us improve it.

Advertising: Google Ads cookies — active only with your consent. Used to measure advertising effectiveness and to show relevant ads.

Third-party payment: Stripe and PayPal set cookies during the checkout flow to process payments securely.

You can manage cookie preferences at any time via the cookie banner. You can also delete cookies from your browser at any time without affecting your ability to browse the site.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following categories of processors, to the extent necessary to provide our services:

  • Stripe and PayPal: payment processing
  • Google (Analytics, Ads, Merchant Center, reCAPTCHA): analytics, advertising, spam prevention
  • CusRev: review invitation management
  • SmartBill: invoice generation (Romanian fiscal requirement)
  • FastPixel: content delivery and image optimisation
  • Jetpack / Automattic: aggregated site analytics

All processors are contractually bound to process your data only as instructed and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers, including Google and Stripe, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

7. Data retention

  • Order and invoice data: retained for 10 years as required by Romanian fiscal law
  • Account data: retained for as long as your account is active, plus 2 years after last activity
  • Contact form submissions: deleted within 2 years of resolution
  • Analytics data: retained in accordance with the respective provider’s default retention settings (Google Analytics: 14 months by default)
  • Review invitation consent: retained for 3 years from the date of consent

8. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Access: you may request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification: you may request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure: you may request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations
  • Restriction: you may request that we limit how we use your data
  • Portability: you may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection: you may object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Withdrawal of consent: where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) at www.dataprotection.ro, or with the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

9. Terms of sale

Products and availability Products are described as accurately as possible. Given the handmade nature of our tools, minor cosmetic variations may occur. We reserve the right to discontinue products or modify specifications without notice.

Pricing and currency Prices are displayed in EUR, RON, or USD depending on your selection. VAT is included in displayed prices for EU customers. Customers with valid EU VAT numbers may enter them at checkout for tax exemption, subject to automated validation.

Payment We accept payment via Stripe (cards), PayPal, and Google Pay. Payment is required in full at the time of order.

Shipping We ship from Romania. Delivery times and costs are indicated at checkout. We are not responsible for delays caused by customs or postal services beyond our control.

Returns and refunds We accept returns within 14 days of receipt for products that are unused and in original condition, in accordance with EU consumer rights legislation (Directive 2011/83/EU). Digital downloads are non-refundable once accessed. To initiate a return, contact us at contact@thewiretools.com.

Warranty Consumers are entitled to a statutory warranty of 2 years under applicable EU and Romanian consumer law. For business customers, warranty terms are governed by Romanian commercial law.

Governing law These terms are governed by Romanian law. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the competent courts of Romania. EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. We will notify registered customers of significant changes by email.
